Be sure to use the correct assignment section for each of your articles. You have up to 10 drafts for each story. I will assign a temporary grade for each draft you do, but it will not go into the gradebook unless you fail to make corrections and revisions prior to the final deadline.

Preliminary drafts are not mandatory, but if you need help, it would be in your best interest to turn in drafts and correct them as directed. You get the final grade assigned, whether or not you have completed preliminary drafts.

When your final story has been approved, make a copy in Microsoft Word and save to your subfolder in the proper folder on the Journalism Drive.

Week of Aug. 23-27

Monday: Overview of course. Go over expectations, procedures.
In class or at home, take the following technology quiz: What kind of technology user are you? Copy and paste your results on a Microsoft Word document and bring to class. (If you don't have a printer, just copy the information to a sheet of notebook paper.)
Tuesday: Pass out, go over online procedures. Instructions for signing up with Google, Blogger, Google Docs, Newsroom Director, Flickr or Picasa, NewsU, Travis Tiger News, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Students must complete signups by class time Friday.
Wednesday: Ethics discussion. Print, photo. Current Events Quiz (TMT only)
Thursday: Ethics activity.
Friday: Students turn in sheets with login names for each online activity. Continuation of ethics activity.
